It was always going to be a good weekend for the local team who celebrated it’s first year anniversary in the Cooper Tires F3 International Series on their home circuit. Add to the mix the first time the team ran 3 cars, positive driving by its 3 young drivers and a throw in a couple of pieces of silverware by the end of the day and the Norfolk boys proved that they are ‘making tracks’.

A blistering start by Victor Corrêa  in the first race put him third on the podium in his National class Litespeed R1, a position that keeps him third in the league table and only marginally behind 2nd place Gabriel Dias.

‘The car was running well and we had a great morning,’ said Corrêa. A minor error in the second race meant that his new team mate, Aaron Steele, A BRDC rising star and Litespeed’s newest recruit took charge of the second race and secured 3rd place in only his first F3 race weekend.

How special was this result? More so than many might acknowledge. Aaron had tested Litspeed’s R1 for the first time only a few days prior to the Snetterton meet and only for a limited time.

‘I had no expectations for Snetterton, but the team has worked exceptionally hard, so such a result so early on means a great deal,’ said Steele. ‘ I feel incredibly comfortable with the team and from now on the only way is up. Donington is not far away and I hope to add more points to my tally there.’

So with 2 National cars finishing with good results, what of Jay Bridger, who runs with Litespeed in his Championship Mygale? Bridger had an exceptionally positive weekend, running competitive times and moving through the pack. He appeared to be held up in the second race, but the car becomes increasingly competitive with each race and ‘Jay is a phenomenal driver,’ said Nino Judge, Litespeed Team Principal. ‘It won’t be long before we see Jay back on the podium.’

Asked about the weekend Judge said,’ I am so proud of Jay, Victor and Aaron. This was a very important weekend for us on so many levels and they have each made it that much more special. Under the technical leadership and management of Steve Kenchington everything is possible.
‘But also to the team I would like to say that your hard work and dedication is boundless and without each and every one of you, none of this would be a reality.’

Litespeed will once again be in action at Donington on 19th July.
